NEWARK AIRPORT TAXI SERVICE

"Beware scams - today one of their drivers tried to charge some 30 dollars more than what was on the ticket (even after 20% tip and some 5 in tolls were included) so he tried to charge me 133 dollars on a ticket that said 80. He was very sneaky and even tried to get my card pin code so that I would not see what he was charging, making small talk to distract me all the while. The only way to file a complaint seems to be a phone number that goes straight to voicemail, so there is clearly no accountability. Very sad this being the first face people see when coming into EWR."

"Terrible experience. The car looked like a legit taxi (yellow, taxi sign on top) but was extremely old, worn down and full of trash. Should have refused to take the ride then and there. Price is high compared to Uber - paid approx. 110 USD after all added fees for a trip to Manhattan outside rush hour. Will not take this again or recommend anyone doing so. Edit: Car number 169."

"It's a shame we only have one choice of a taxi ride. First time in NYC, already apprehensive about NYC taxis. We we told by the attendant to go to a particular car. The car had every warning light on the dashboard, it rattled, it stunk of dope and the driver was all over the road, with cars tooting at him. Then of course the price went up from the quote I received. I would recommend taking a taxi to the out skirts of the airport then order a uber."
