"Updated 07/21/2025⬇️🔴⬇️🔴⬇️ 160 driving academy only cares about making a profit at the expense of its students. Class sizes are too large. The trucks are old and run down with two gears (manual) inoperable. Instructors dissappear, leaving students to self teach. Hours are upticked, with 15 min counted as 1 hr. Students dont pass the road test. Then they want you to pay $1200 more claiming you maxed out your hours. Every other driving school only charges $400 to use a truck for the road test. 160 driving Academy sets students up to fail with minimal instruction and limited practice then upcharges them! Pay the extra for a driving school that actually cares and invests the time and energy into the success of their students..-- -- Despite their comment on this review 160 Academy did not reply back to me or resolve this issue. My advice is to use WNY driving school in orchard Park. After just a few classes 1on1 with Josh, the manager, I was able to pass my CDL with NO limitations all thanks to his patience, and the fair prices of WNY driving school. WNY driving school was 100% worth it, I only wish I had used them to begin with and not wasted my time and money with 160 Academy scammers."

"School is a complete waste of money, often times the ratio of students per truck is 6:1 which is insane. They don’t tell you in the front/sales office how crappy the equipment is or the ratio of students to available equipment because the salesman most likely earns a commission based on how many potential students he recruits. I only paid $1500 for the school due to tuition assistance from my union, if I paid over $5000 I’d be livid. Save your money and go to another school."

"For the price of the "so called academy", it is pretty much self taught. Given a script of how to say a pre-trip inspection, without what stuff actually does beyond the brakes. I had to teach the guys in my group about backing up trailers and a trick with the steering wheel. They give you a short one time "turn the wheel one turn this and one turn this way" without explanations. It took four weeks for us to be shown a proper parallel park. Out of five of us that took the CDL A manual state test, I am the only one that passed. And then to learn they just fired the only instructor that give really detailed explanations, its a joke. I dont recommend this company for getting your CDL even though its a cheaper option. Trucks are consistently broke down, and not enough people to help us paying clients. Spend your money elsewhere. Youll be better off in the end."
