"I came to this location for help with my title, and I was very impressed throughout the whole process. When there was a line at the initial information desk, another employee (Jennifer) stopped by and asked myself and several other people what we needed, and directed us to the correct locations. Jennifer then assisted me with my title issues, answered all of my questions (I feel like the paperwork is a maze of confusion), and had me in and out in under twenty minutes! I had not been looking forward to coming in to do anything (as we all know the stories about the DMV), but this was a very positive experience."

"The lady working the front counter at 3pm on July 11th was absolutely nasty (she left around 3:05 and someone else took her spot). I believe her name was Alexi. Our entire interaction was awful, but the cherry on top was after I asked a clarifying question that she had NOT previously answered, she rudely said “did you hear a single word out of my mouth?!” So I asked “did I do something to upset you??” she ignored my question and rushed me away with an eye-roll. Every word out of her mouth to the people directly before and after me was nasty. As a manager myself, I genuinely don’t think she should work customer service. I would recommend this place…….. without her. I genuinely hope she figures out whatever it is that caused her to throw such a fit at her grown age. Crazy. On a positive note, the security guard was super super nice! He was friendly and easy going :) he made the entire experience 100x more forgivable."

"Little Monisha is an angry and disgruntled employee of the Secretary of States office in Peoria ! I have included a REPORT of the COMPLAINT I filled with the Inspector General ! Hello ! I just renewed my drivers license real ID and updated my address at the Peoria IL location on Sterling Ave. Everyone was friendly and professional, except the black lady at the front desk whos name is Monisha. She was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and acted like she either had something against me, and/or hated her job. She told me that no document from "Public Aid" would be accepted even though on the list of acceptable documents it reads that mail from ANY government agency is accepted as proof of address. She made sure to yell really loud the words "Public Aid" so as to attempt to embarrass me. Then she even made me step aside out of line to serve others while I had to figure out what I could give as proof, instead of working with me to find an acceptable document like she should have. I brought many documents just in case certain ones werent accepted. She even blew air out of her mouth as if to let me know that I was annoying her or to belittle or intimidate me. She wouldnt even look at the documents that I suggested. She was out to give me a hard time and Ive never seen this woman before in my life. The last time I was at this same location was on June 3, 2021, in which it was a pleasant experience with no issues at all. This has to be the worst treatment Ive received from any State Government DMV. I cannot believe the way I was treated just by showing up for my appointment. I was rattled and angry after leaving and now over 2 hours later I feel the same. Illinois has come a long way in DMV services over the years. It was a little different when I received my first "Minor" license in 1999, but not a horrible experience like today was. I was blown away and proud of the fast, friendly, efficient service I received in Peoria in 2021. I am also feeling the same way about todays visit, minus your employee Monishas attitude and demeanor towards me. This was truly disturbing and people like that do not belong working for the Illinois Secretary of State. I sincerely hope this complaint makes its way back to her, she needs to lose her job over this. And you have my permission to include this complaint word for word so she can read it lol. Before I go, I would like to say to Alexi, Secretary of State, I dont know about this appointment stuff, its intimidating and there arent many available openings for some reason. I hope you allow walk in services again soon. I was really scared that I wouldnt get an appointment and my Drivers license would expire. Knowing that Illinois gives a 1 year grace period after expiration made me at ease yes, but I dont like the mandatory appointment system. Thank You very much for your attention to this matter ! Have a great day !"
